Matt Gabel is originally from Staten Island, New York, but he spent most of his life in Charleston, South Carolina. His love of real estate was heavily influenced by growing up around it. Since age 18, Matt has been involved in several areas of real estate, including sales, flipping homes, residential construction, new community development, Airbnb, and much more. Now settled in Tampa, Florida, Matt’s knowledge of all aspects of East Coast real estate helps him serve his clients from every angle.
Before real estate, Matt dedicated his school years to sports, earning a place on Wingate University’s football team. Ultimately, his love for real estate led him back to Charleston, where he started in new construction sales. In Matt’s first year, he sold over 60 homes, which led to him selling out the neighborhood preconstruction.
After gaining plenty of experience and knowledge, Matt was ready to take another step forward. He wanted to dedicate his time to helping the general public achieve homeownership, from first-time buyers to seasoned investors adding homes to their portfolios. That is when Matt and his brother created a nationwide team. With Matt as chief operating officer, he decided to move to Tampa and grow the Florida branch. Within a year, Matt reached around $10 million in sales volume while still reaching around $5 million in sales in Charleston.
With great levels of continuous growth and success for that team, Matt decided to make a stride into his true passion for luxury real estate. Matt strongly believes in deep relationships that last a lifetime and being around a team with the same goals, which led him to Align Real Estate. Their motto — Fierce. Fresh. Forward-thinking. — was something Matt felt he needed to break into and excel in the luxury space.
In Matt’s free time, he loves being with his wife, son, and three dogs. He is also a foodie and enjoys trying new restaurants in the Tampa area with his family. He is big on family time and values cherishing the moments with the ones you love. Being a father, husband, and son, Matt is dedicated to creating the best experience for clients and their loved ones who are buying and selling.
